Michigan Community Capital – Workforce Housing
In June 2019, Windemuller secured a contract with Michigan Community Capital (MCC) to facilitate the development of affordable housing in Cadillac, Michigan. The project, known as Cadillac Lofts, introduced more than 80 new affordable residential units to the housing market. Windemuller played a pivotal role by providing comprehensive design-build services, including electrical work, fire alarms, communications, and installing a card access/security system.
Initially, our involvement was expected to be a one-time engagement. However, the exceptional execution of the card access system received praise from the client, leading to requests for its incorporation into future projects. Impressed by our installation quality and dependable service, the client not only requested a quote but also entrusted us with the low-voltage work for their subsequent endeavors, covering data, coaxial, and camera systems.
Our partnership with MCC has expanded beyond Cadillac Lofts to include various projects, ranging from renovations to new constructions across the state. These projects include Lofts on Rowe in Ludington, Broadway Lofts in Mt. Pleasant, Sawmill Lofts in Grayling, Temple Lofts in Lansing, and more. Additionally, we are actively collaborating with MCC to implement card access systems in their existing properties.
Windemuller’s comprehensive approach brings new efficiencies to MCC’s operations. By integrating the various Loft sites, the client now has centralized monitoring capabilities for all cameras, access control systems, phones, and other technological assets, whether on-premise or cloud-based. Standardizing systems and equipment across all facilities enables simplified personnel training, resulting in more predictable costs for future projects.
We are honored to partner with Michigan Community Capital and support its efforts to provide workforce housing to communities throughout Michigan.
