Purchasing Coordinator

It’s kind of like a good hunt – tracking down hard-to-find materials for a job. There’s the rewarding challenge of finding ways to save money on materials and equipment needs, and to reduce the amount of surplus after a job is done.

I’ve been the purchasing coordinator for Windemuller for 17 years. Whether it’s making larger material buys, setting up different purchasing plans, or combining material requests for multiple jobs, all of these things come into play with this role. In addition to the materials and equipment side of things, I also work with company vehicle procurement and maintenance.

I was raised on a dairy farm where you always needed to be doing something productive – something that helps other people do their jobs. I started my professional career working in the electrical supply business for 12 years and enjoyed helping people – whether electricians or homeowners – with their electrical needs. I was then given the chance to hire into the purchasing department for an electrical contractor and did well with improving its procurement needs and eliminating material surplus. After 10 years, I started a new position with Windemuller doing the same type of work and demonstrating my abilities to provide cost savings and reduction in material surplus.

I know a lot of people say this, and that’s because it’s true: I appreciate the family atmosphere at Windemuller and have a lot of friends here. It is also amazing to see all the different talents employees have and to watch how each person works together to create a team. I am looking forward to being part of the Windemuller team for the rest of my career.
