Account Manager - Service

For as long as I can remember, I’ve liked to build stuff and see things take shape. Even now when I’m driving, I’ll still rubberneck any project under way.

I first got into the electrical trade helping with wiring houses, and later went to work for an electrical services company. Before working here, I knew Windemuller was the place to be. I remember stopping by the office after getting off work at my previous job to pick up an application. I’ll celebrate 20 years in 2025!

After joining Windemuller in 2005, I continued doing electrical construction work and earned my journeyman license in 2012. That same year, I moved into the service department to give it a try. It had been 10 years of that work when in late 2022 I finally decided to come in from the field and moved into the role of account manager for the Charlevoix office.

We do smaller projects – as opposed to large construction jobs – out of this location. I look at the work, estimate the costs, and get the labor and equipment lined up – everything from top to bottom and all the way to billing. The appeal of the service department for me is that it is faster moving. With construction, you can be on a job for a year or more. The faster pace can be stressful, but when you weigh it against the snow and mud outside, well …

What I appreciate most about Windemuller is it’s almost like a second family. Some of my best friends work here. Also, upper management is very approachable and asks for feedback, listens, and acts on it. As a result, lots of us stick around for the long haul. I’m one of many long-term employees. It’s not just a place to work – it’s a great place to work.
